The new maibachi is 31.8cm long and 1.9cm in diameter, making it shorter and thinner compared to the traditional maibachi used for arcade play (39cm x 2cm). This new design is mainly for the TDC10, with the shorter length making it easier to move on smaller drum surfaces. The maibachi has a slender tip, which reduces contact area with the drum, enhances impact strength, and improves precision, making hits more responsive. Additionally, this design makes drumming quieter, which is especially important for home use, reducing the chances of disturbing neighbors.
